Finnish Society And Culture

Hello!

OK, we have lesson "Society and Lecture" and always after it I have some points which worth to remember. Did you know, that after Soviet Union there was discussion in Nordic countries about Lithuania and other Baltic countries. In 1991, there was an idea to join Baltic countries block to Nordic countries what would were made completely different situation in nowadays Lithuania. Well, we saw, that we were left as Baltic countries block. The reason is Soviet Union. Nordic countries were too much in development and that would be big difference between old countries and new Baltic one.. So, we could say that Soviet Union put us to the economic situation which we are now in.

Second point, Finland. It got independence in 1917, what let it develop it and successfully join Nordic countries block and be listed in ~15 place of richest economic country in the world. Still, it struggle to reach the level of Sweden, Norway or Denmark cause these countries independent even longer. It is nice thing to think :)

Have a nice evening! Winter already came to Finland, it is snowing almost all the day!

Independence day

Hey, so we had independence day today in Finland. Well, some main differences could be:
  • event is not pompous as used to be in Lithuania
  • the Christmas tree dressed only by lights
  • well, in addition it is a massive event, but there wasn't any street-sellers
  • also, people behave drily what makes celebration nice and special for everyone
  • event fire-show was not anything too much impressive. Personally, I think that Finland doesn't need addition attention to it's side. They make celebration for themselves and well, they understand that shows is paid by citizens money. Once I heard that Vilnius looks luxury and people live on poverty line cause our society wants attract more tourists and present themselves as the country living in the same level as rich ones. Buuut... If I would compare Vilnius with Tampere, I could say that Vilnius has more "glossy" places in compare with Tampere. However, society in Finland is more civilized and makes you feel more cozy.
I made some experimental pics with telephone, you can take a look. And yeah, Finnish anthem:
